Australian Youth Climate Coalition - https://www.aycc.org.au/
Running since 2010, AYCC is the largest youth run organisation in Australia, with hundreds of thousands of young people reached with their education programs.
They are support and resource volunteer groups of young people all over the country and provide excellent training for volunteer leaders and organisers. They have a presence in many schools through their Switched On Schools Program
We are not alone
SUFTY is just one of very many organisations working to enfranchise young people,
These are some of the great organisations working for young people and the climate:
Australian Religious Response to Climate Change - https://www.arrcc.org.au/
Is a gutsy multi-faith group campaigning politically and also taking aim at big banks which fund fossil fuels, divestment of super funds, as well as awareness raising within their own communities. Very mobilised and dynamic.
School Strike for Climate - https://www.schoolstrike4climate.com/
Is the young people’s worldwide network founded/inspired by Greta Thunberg (when she was just 14!!). This is the school students own organization for climate action, and deserves all the support we can give.
NZ - this group won a court case ruling that age limits on voting were a violation of human rights law in New Zealand. Visit their website for latest developments.
(Will New Zealand beat Australia to securing the teenage vote?)
AUS And in wonderful news, Australian young people from around the country have formed their own campaign which we are giving lots of support to.
Tasmanian Member of the Legislative Council Mike Gaffney made this speech in the Upper House about the value of giving young people the right to vote…

Vote 16 is a global concern
UK - two countries within the UK - Wales and Scotland - have enfranchised young people in local and independence elections; and major youth organisations are campaigning for it to be UK-wide in national elections too. https://www.byc.org.uk/campaigns/votes-at-16
